Antonio Conte has added Alex Sandro the top of his transfer list this summer, according to reports.
The Juventus left-back is wanted by the Chelsea boss so that his side can switch easily between a back three and four.
The Telegraph claim Conte wants his Chelsea team to be as versatile as possible next season with the Blues set to compete across four fronts.
Champions League football returns to Stamford Bridge while Chelsea will be defending their Premier League title as well as playing in the EFL Cup and League Cup.
Sandro played at left-back and on the left side of midfield last season and started the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The Brazilian made 43 appearances in total and provided seven assists, five of those from left-back.
Chelsea changed their fortunes drastically last year when Conte switched to a back three.
The Blues won 13 games in a row to fire them to the top of the table and never relented their grip on the title from then onwards.
Conte’s role as a mater tactician helped produce a remarkable season for a side that finished in tenth the previous campaign.
But the Chelsea boss believes his side cannot stand still and is preparing for further tweaks to his formation in the summer.
Sandro is under contract with Juventus until 2020, but Conte has an excellent relationship with the club as their former manager.
